The outbreak of diarrhea in the remote western part of Jajarkot district in mid-western Nepal has claimed seven lives, local media reported on Friday.
According to a leading website, nepalnews.com report, the outbreak, which started from the last week of July, has affected hundreds of villagers in the region, some 325 km west of Kathmandu.
There is a dearth of medicine and the medical team, too, has not reached the spot yet, the report said.
Poor awareness of health and hygiene and non-existence of proper sanitation facilities trigger outbreaks of diarrhea and gastro-enteritis diseases in various villages in the country during monsoon season every year.
