A karaoke club in Kouvola in southern Finland, has set new world record for continuously sung karaoke, clocking 211 hours, 38 minutes and 4 seconds, local media reported Sunday.

More than 500 karaoke singers from across the country took part in the event, the reports said.

The Kouvola Karaoke Club began singing on Aug. 8th and initially planned on singing through Sunday, August 19th. The singers were forced to put down their microphones on Friday, however, due to technical difficulties.

The club is now waiting for entry into the Guinness Book of World Records. The previous record was set in China, with 145 hours and 15 seconds.
