A 31-year-old Colombian has been arrested for trying to smuggle 59,000 U.S. dollars hidden in her vagina and anus, Mexico press reported on Wednesday.
Sandra Venegas was arrested in Guatemala City's La Aurora International Airport for carrying 55,000 dollars in her bags.
Guatemalan officials helped Venegas expel another 59,000 dollars from her vagina and anus before she was admitted to the National Civilian Police hospital due to the danger of physical harm from the stash, Guatemalan media said.
Venegas was heading for the Colombian city of Medellin, with a stopover in Panama.
She has to stay at least one more day in hospital for fear that she may be carrying more cash in her intestines.
Guatemala's Interior Ministry said that Venegas could be charged with money laundering.
