Health officials of Zambia at the borders with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) are on high alert to suspected hemorrhagic Ebola virus, The Post reported Thursday.
The Zambian newspaper quoted spokesperson of the Health Ministry of Zambia Canisius Banda as saying while the rise for Ebola to come into the country is low, it is important to take necessary precautions when a contagious disease was reported.
Banda said in an interview that public health officials will raise awareness within the country especially in the areas bordering affected areas.
"Copperbelt and Luapula health officials have epidemic preparedness committees whenever there is such an alert," he said.
