At least three people have died in central Nepal since Thursday evening due to outbreak of diarrhea, reported local media house's website ekantipur Friday.
The diarrhea outbreak occurred owing to rising temperature and rain in Sarlahi District, situated some 100 km south of capital city Kathmandu.
An eight-year-old child Sadananda Mukhiya, Dharohari Devi, 60, and Suryakala Kumari are among the dead due to lack of proper medication, informed the District Police office.
The District Public Health Post has sent a team of heath workers with medicine to the sites. Another 12 have been affected, reportedly, till today. The seriously ill victims are being treated by the local level medical personal. Polluted water and food have been speculated the reasons behind the outbreak of the contagious disease.
The damaged road triggered by torrential rain a few days ago hindered the people of Sakraul Village Development Committee (VDC) to go to the Public Health post, though it is not too far.
The health workers were sent to the village after the disease was feared to led to an epidemic. The village has only one sub- health post.
