Two old men from Vietnam's central Nghe An province died suspectedly from acute diarrhea, while the confirmed number of the disease's sufferers in the country is 855 now, local newspaper Vietnam Agriculture reported Wednesday.

The 63-year-old named Bui Van Toan and the 64-year-old named Tran Quy Ngu, both from Nam Dan district, died on Tuesday after exhibiting acute diarrhea symptoms and then taking common medicines at home. Toan had eaten sea fish, and Ngu had used soya bean sauce before they developed diarrhea.

Since acute diarrhea started to hit Vietnam's northern region on Oct. 23, a total of 855 local people from 11 localities have been confirmed to contract the disease. Among local acute diarrhea sufferers, 150 have been tested positive to cholera virus, local newspaper Youth reported Wednesday.
