A song aimed at motivating people to work together to tackle climate change was launched at the 13th Session of Conference of Parties (COP-13) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change on Monday.
The song "Share with the World", jointly launched by the newly-elected president of the 13th Session of Conference of Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and Indonesian Environment Minister Rachmat Witoelar with Oxfam's Ari Margiono, was written by Nugie, a popular musician who has had a long involvement in promoting environmental issues in Indonesia.
The song, which was also composed to raise awareness about the ongoing climate conference in Indonesia's resort island of Bali, was performed by the United Voices of Indonesia, a special group of the country's 50 singers and musicians, according to Oxfam's website.
The UN climate change meeting, which opened here Monday morning, will last till Dec. 14. It is being attended by more than 10,000 people from some 180 countries and regions.
The conference, among other things, will discuss mitigation, adaptation, transfer of technology and financing. Source: Xinhua
