Largest commemorative gold coins in Olympic history issued in Beijing

The third set of precious metal commemorative coins for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad, issued by the People's Bank of China (PBC), have been on sale since March 20, 2008.

The third set consists of nine coins: two of which are made with a one-third ounce of gold, one with five ounces of gold, one with 10 kilograms of gold, four with an ounce of silver, and one with a full kilogram of silver. All of them are legal tenders of the People's Republic of China.

The commemorative coin made with 10 kilograms of gold is the largest in the history of the Olympic Games.
