As China's third Cultural Heritage Day is around the corner, some restoration sites of the Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes, a world cultural heritage, will be open to the public for the first time.
Visitors can book an appointment to see how the mural paintings are restored.
The Dunhuang Academy reported on June 11 that the activity was launched to raise public awareness around the protection of the Mogao Grottoes cultural relics.
The restoration sites to open include Cave 44, Cave 98 and Cave 85.
They will be open on June 14, the third Cultural Heritage Day, until November 28.
