After a chance meeting with John Mayer in an Amsterdam coffeehouse, singer-songwriter Chaton Anderson told In Touch Weekly she has doubts about his commitment to "Friends" star Jennifer Aniston.

"I never would have guessed he had a girlfriend at all," she said.

"I asked (John) what his relationship status was," Chaton added. "He said, 'It's vague.' I asked him what that meant and he said, 'You know, it's very vague.' I just laughed. I never mentioned Jennifer and neither did he."

According to Chaton, John then asked if she was seeing anyone, and when he learned that she was newly single, he hinted that he'd like to spend time with her.

"I laughed because I knew what he was getting at," she told the magazine.

Before parting ways, Chaton gave John her phone number but said, "I'll never know if he called or not," as someone supposedly stole her cell phone later that evening.
