One more person has died from the listeria outbreak in Canada, health officials said Saturday.

The newest death occurred in the eastern province of Quebec and is the first there. Provincial government has ordered the recall of 11 cheeses, which are considered the source of the contamination.

Fourteen others were sent to hospital because of listeriosis in the province, and 10 other cases are under investigation, officials said.

According to the Public Health Agency of Canada, there were 38 confirmed listeria cases, 20 suspected and 13 confirmed deaths as of Friday, excluding the Quebec death.

The outbreak originated from tainted meat product in the Toronto plant of Maple Leaf Food, Canada's biggest food company, in July. Most of the deaths occurred in Ontario province.
