China's first ever electronic music festival – "Intro 2009" kicks off from April 23rd until May 23rd, in Beijing.
It has been organized by China's Ministry of Culture, the State Administration of Radio Film and Television and the People's Government of Beijing Municipality.
The electronic music festival includes three sections "Intro Ambience", "Intro By Day" and "Intro By Night".
"Intro By Day" and "Intro By Night" held in 798 Art District in Beijing on May 23rd will be a watershed moment for China's electronic music. A moment when world-renowned electronic DJs, producers, and visual artists join forces with local artists.
Meanwhile, Goethe-Institut China together with C/O POP Music & Convention will present "German Electronic Music Series 12" at Intro 2009.
Besides performances by two top German DJs, M.A.N.D.Y. Phillip and Chris Liebing at "intro By Day", Goethe-Institut China is particularly involved with "Intro Ambience" which offers discussions on topics from local creation to international industry as well as three Chinese movie premiers about electronic music.
The three Chinese movie premiers, "Berlin Calling", "We Call It Techno" and "Speaking in Code", will be shown May 2nd, 9th and 16th respectively in Club Camp, Beijing.
