These 10 streets, found in cities across the nation, each boasts a unique flavor of China's past and the influential people who put them on the map.

"The Renowned Chinese Cultural-Historic Streets are the most typical gathering place of old China. The three-day-long cultural festival and promotional activities began in Guozijian Street in Beijing, the place where Confucius, the founder of Confucianism and the famous Chinese sage and teacher was enshrined and offered sacrifice to emperors of Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties.

During the festival, 40,000 Chinese literature classics of The Analects of Confucius will be offered to local residents and tourists for free at the Guozijian Imperial Academy.

Over 30 book corners have also been opened.

Activities during the cultural festival include painting and calligraphy exhibitions focusing on The Analects of Confucius and depicted on the Beijing Confucius Temple. More than 130 works will be on display. Live performances of different cultural styles and tastes such as waist drum and dance and Yangko shows will also be on show.
