A short animated online video (small) featuring the Leshan Giant Buddha (real image, large) in Sichuan Province singing an upbeat pop song urging listeners to “be happy everyday” has sparked heated discussions among Internet users – some of whom are charmed and others regard it as blasphemy. The video's creator is a local man who calls himself “an amateur visual effects producer” and said the work has fulfilled his dream of producing his own digitally animated film while promoting the Leshan culture.
