Beijing police recently arrested a man wanted for the murder of a waif 17 years ago.

Li Ming came to Beijing from Henan province as a migrant worker in 1991, when a homeless man told him of a treasure hidden near the city's railway station.

On not finding the treasure where he was told it would be, Li killed the waif on Jan 26, 1992, and fled to Suzhou, Jiangsu province, where he opened a number of restaurants and turned a millionaire.

Li, however, made a mistake when he phoned his father in Henan province, unaware that a wanted criminal's home phones are always tapped.
