Si Xian Opera 'Song of Red Bean' staged in Shanghai

The opera "Song of Red Bean" is one of the hundreds of performances staged during the 11th annual Shanghai International Arts Festival running from October 18 to November 18.

Si Xian opera, which dates back 500 years, is a traditional folk art in northern China's Hebei Province. "Song of Red Bean" is adapted from real historical events and folklore of the Three Kingdoms period (220-280 AD).
