Largest Chairman Mao sculpture under construction in Changsha

On Nov. 2, the rudiment of Chairman Mao’s youthful sculpture can be seen at Orange Island, Changsha. It is considered to be the largest landscape project on Orange Island and the largest Chairman Mao sculpture in China. The total construction area is 2,300 square meters; the base to the shoulder is 15 meters tall, 83 meters long and 41 meters wide.

The sculpture has adopted the RC frame structure with a granite surface. The base of the sculpture is Chairman Mao Memorial Hall and showroom with a total area of 2,000 square meters.
