Visiting Danish Queen Margrethe II and Vietnamese President Nguyen Minh Triet attended a street art festival jointly held by the two countries here on Tuesday.
The festival, gathering more than 50 artists from Denmark and Vietnam, presented music, dance and visual arts of various forms.
Held in a park near the famous Hoan Kiem Lake in the center of Hanoi, the festival aimed to bring art out onto the streets to the people.
"Enjoying and appreciating high-quality art stimulate people's imagination and creativity," said Danish culture minister Carina Christensen at the festival.
"We expect the festival could bring art to where people are and make art more accessible," she said. "At the street art festival, you can choose to stop for five minutes or hang around for hours."
Ngo Thi Thanh Hang, vice chairwoman of the Hanoi People's Committee said the festival is a symbol of friendship between the two countries.
The festival will last for a few weeks and these artists will also perform in other scenic spots of the city, according to the organizers.
