A Cotai Jet ferry Tuesday collided with a fishing boat off the Macao coast, leading to one death and two injuries.
At around 11:45 a.m., the ferry, sailing from Hong Kong to Macao, hit the fishing boat on waters 75 sea miles off the coast of Macao, a press official of the Special Administration Region's Maritime Administration, told Xinhua through telephone.
The official also said that the three persons on board the fishing boat, registered in the Chinese mainland, fell off into the sea after the collision, and one of them died when being rescued and rushed to Macao's hospitals. All the victims were mainlanders.
None of the 130 passengers, except for one who felt sick after the collision, and the crew on board the ferry was injured, and the cause of the accident was still unknown, according to the Administration.
