Air New Zealand has encouraged its employees to strip off for its new on-board safety video.

The clip features airline staff and the plane's first officer completely naked except for body paint and some strategically held equipment.

The company said: "Some low-cost airlines tack on extra charges to their fares, but with us, what you see is what you pay.

"And to prove it, our staff volunteered to bare all in nothing more than body paint for our TV campaign and new in-flight safety video."

The clip has attracted over two million views on YouTube.
