CCTV footage released in the US has shown a baby squirrel jumping out of a woman's cleavage while she was being interviewed by the police.

The unnamed woman was giving evidence in an ongoing murder case when the animal emerged from between her breasts.

Detective Warren Mackey told WKBN that he did his best to ignore the squirrel and continue quizzing the witness as she stuffed it back down her low-cut top.

Mackey said: "I was not prepared to see a woodland creature in the interview room.

"I kept right on talking to her and listening to her. I didn't acknowledge it at all. I really didn't know what to say."
