Rare cars driving on the road of Chengdu yesterday.

Yesterday, Feb. 20, was the first working day after the Spring Festival holiday and also the first day Chengdu began its staggered return to work policy. Many government officers said the traffic situation was very good in the morning.

However, many people think the good traffic situation is because schools, private companies and some offices were still on vacation. Therefore, whether the policy really works or not has yet to be determined.

According to the staggered return to work policy carried out in Chengdu, the morning working time of government departments and institutions was postponed from 8: 30 am to 9 am. However, some civil servants were not accustomed to the shift, and still came to the office around half past eight.

Some citizens said schools, some stores and offices were not open yet, and even some busy traffic crossings were not jammed yesterday.

Most people said the traffic situation was very good just like during the Spring Festival vacation, but most attributed this to the fact that schools and some companies were still on vacation.
