This year, just before the Olympic Games, Beijing will renovate the following cultural tourism sites: Tianning Temple, the three major Shijingshan temples (Charitable Temple, Fahai Temple, and Cheng'en Temple), and Western city's Huoshen Temple will be given a brand new look. "In the past 8 years, Beijing has improved over 139 ancient buildings; and 106 recently opened sites or expanded monuments including the Wangshou Temple, Ji Xiaolan home, and the emperors' temple." Secretary of Beijing Cultural Relics Bureau Kong Fanzhi said that this year, the city will spend 120 million yuan to repair 31 sites including the front ground of the Great Hall of Tai Temple, Dongyue Temple Road, protecting the Yu River, Wangshou Temple East Road, and the North Church.
