A well-known Filipino artist will hold a three-day exhibition at Norway's Ministry of Culture and Church Affairs in Oslo to mark the 110th anniversary of independence of the Philippines, the official Philippines News Agency reported on Sunday.

The exhibition by Manuel Baldemor is also aimed at celebrating the 60 years of Philippine-Norwegian diplomatic relations.

Dubbed "Images of the Philippines and Norway", the exhibition will run on June 2-4 and also coincides with the celebration of Norway's Cultural Diversity 2008 activities.

The artworks on display are mainly oil paintings on the beautiful sceneries and culture of the Philippines and Norway, said the report.

Born in 1947 in Paete, Laguna south of Manila, Baldemor is painter, sculptor, printmaker, graphic designer and book illustrator. He has won prizes at painting competition of the Art Association of the Philippines and reproductions of his work adorn UNICEF greeting cards.

Norway was the hosting country for peace talks between the Philippine government and the Communist Party of the Philippines and its armed wing the New People's Army.
