China's 2008 Lhasa Shoton Festival will be held between August 30 and September 5. Not only traditional programs like "Buddha unfolding" and "Tibetan drama" will be shown at the festival, but with some modern elements, including travel and leisure, competitive sports, market negotiation and sales of goods. The Lhasa Shoton Festival has been transformed into a well-known international festival by combining traditional and modern elements.
