The Commercial Press will publish the collector's edition of the complete "Chinese Translation of World Famous Academic Works". This groundbreaking translation project of western academic works, which embodies the painstaking work of several generations of scholars and publishers, will have a new edition.
Wang Tao, the newly appointed general manager of The Commercial Press, said that since the first volume of the series was published in 1982, nearly 400 books in 10 volumes of the "Chinese Translation of World Famous Academic Works" have been published.
The earlier edition, which had been published for decades, contains fonts that are illegible and do not meet contemporary standards. More than 20 years later, new developments have been made in the interpretation and expression of many masterpieces. This time, The Commercial Press will unify the style, standardize the fonts, remake the plates and then print all 400 books in the series.
