The World Heritage Institute of Training and Research-Asia and Pacific was set up Wednesday in Beijing to promote the country's work of conserving cultural and natural heritage.

The center plans to launch a series of programs that combine Chinese cultural heritage with modern computing technology.

The e-Heritage program, for example, applies the latest computing technologies to conservation, interpretation and dissemination of cultural and natural heritage.

The center also listed two major world heritages on its top working agenda, namely the Wolong Giant Panda Reserve area and the Qinchen Mountain-Dujiangyan. Both were severely damaged by the May 12 earthquake.
