Britney Spears has been ordered to undergo drug and alcohol testing twice per week on random dates and times, media reposrts said Wednesday.
The order results from a Monday hearing in the bitter custody battle between Spears and her ex-husband Kevin Federline over their two sons -- Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1. The judge required both parents to refrain from drinking and using drugs around their children and 12 hours before either cares for them, but only Spears was ordered to submit to testing.
"Based on the evidence presented, the court finds that there is habitual, frequent and continuous use of controlled substances and alcohol by" Spears, Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon wrote in his ruling.
The judge also said Spears must work for eight hours a week with a "parenting coach" who will observe and report back to the court about her parenting skills.
The two have joint custody of their sons, but Federline is seeking a greater share of custody. Gordon maintained a 50/50 joint arrangement.
Both parents are ordered to complete a "parenting without conflict" program, and prohibited from "making derogatory remarks" about each other in their children's presence.
