Aucklander Kim Sinclair, the art director for film Avatar, won an Oscar award on Monday.
Sinclair, from New Zealand city of Auckland, was one of four members of the Avatar arts team to collect the Oscar for best arts direction at Monday's Academy Awards ceremony in Hollywood, Newstalk ZB radio reported.
Sinclair was the art director for the Wellington film sets that feature in the blockbuster.
