Schools in several Bulgarian cities have been closed due to a flu epidemic that doctors warn is spreading across the country, Bulgarian education officials said Monday.
A total of 20 schools in the northern Bulgarian city of Montana as well as one in Kardzhali in southern Bulgaria were closed due to the flu threat Monday, the Education Ministry officials said, adding that the students would have a short vacation at home.
Doctors warned that the epidemic is also gaining momentum in the regions of Stara Zagora, Pleven, Varna and Pazardzhik.
Experts said the warm weather that followed the arctic temperatures and heavy snowfalls in Bulgaria triggered the epidemic. Source:Xinhua
