A total of 67 people injured in the 5.12 massive earthquake in Sichuan Province arrived in Shenzhen late Wednesday night for medical treatment.
The first batch of 31 quake injured were flown to Guangzhou on Tuesday.
The survivors who flew to Shenzhen with their family members were scheduled to be admitted to four Shenzhen hospitals---Shenzhen No. 1 People's Hospital, Shenzhen No. 2 People's Hospital, Beijing University Shenzhen Hospital and Shenzhen Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital.
Most of the injured, aged between 8 and 70, are natives of Qingchuan County, one of the worst-hit areas, and had suffered fractures.
Shenzhen Vice Mayor Zhuo Qinrui went to the Shenzhen airport yesterday to welcome the patients.
The survivors did not arrive at 8:30 p.m. as scheduled, leaving more than 200 medical workers waiting at the airport for hours.
The four local hospitals have each set aside more than 20 beds for the patients while the city has set up an expert team consisting of senior doctors.
Five flights, carrying 270 patients from Sichuan, were scheduled to arrive in Guangdong late yesterday, a Xinhua report said.
More than 21 hospitals in the Pearl River Delta region have been designated to receive patients from Sichuan.
