An infant in New York infected with the A/H1N1 flu virus has died, bringing the city's A/H1N1 death toll to five, a local radio station reported on Tuesday.
Erin Brady, spokesman for the New York Health Department, declined to release the victim's name and address on Monday citing patient confidentiality laws.
The infant is the youngest victim of the A/H1N1 virus in New York City. The others who died ranged in age from 34 to 55.
Local media reports said the infant, less than 2 years old, was Steven Montanez of the Bronx, one of the five boroughs of the city.
Family members told New York Daily News that the infant was found unconscious by his aunt on Thursday.
