Tunisian Health Ministry confirmed on Monday evening the first two influenza A/H1N1 cases, official Tunisian Press Agency reported.
The Tunisian Ministry said in a statement that the two cases are two Tunisian nationals who arrived earlier in the African Arab country coming from the United States.
The two citizens are in stable condition and received treatment under close surveillance, the statement read.
The statement did not mention any information about the date of discovering the infections or the airliner that carried the two cases to their home.
The epidemic was reported in many Middle East countries including Israel, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Yemen, Morocco and Oman.
