Nepal confirmed two more cases of pandemic influenza A/H1N1 Thursday, bringing the total number of infected case to five, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

According to the release issued by Ministry of Health and Population, the two new infected victims are 17 month old boy and five year old boy.

The 17 month old boy is the member of the family who came from the United States through Doha in Qatar and landed in the capital Kathmandu on June 21. The five year old boy is a relative of same family who spent one day directly with them at their home.

The health surveillance team at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in the capital Kathmandu had carried out the A/H1N1 influenza virus test in three infected victims who came from the United States and declared positive result in samples test on June29, the first confirmation of A/H1N1.

However, the first three infected victims in Nepal comprising a38-year old woman, a 44-year old man and an 8-year old boy, all from the same family have been recovered, according to Dr SenendraRaj Upreti, Director of Epidemiology and Disease Control Division.

The two new infected are also kept in isolation and the government is following strict infection control method in both, according to the release.
