The total number of A/H1N1 flu deaths in Canada rose to 31, health officials said Thursday.

Quebec province reported one new death Thursday, bringing its total to 13. The provincial Health Department said the victim is a woman in her 60s who suffered from other medical problems.

The province also confirmed 62 new cases since June 30, bringing the provincial total to 2,129.

The Health Department is reminding people that symptoms of swine flu are similar to the regular seasonal flu experienced every fall, adding people experiencing severe symptoms such as trouble breathing and sore throats should go to see doctor.

Meanwhile, the number of confirmed swine flu cases in western provinces also continues to increase. Alberta is reporting 1,008 cases of the virus. Manitoba Health is reporting 227 new cases this week, bringing the province's total to 685. Saskatchewan is reporting 739 confirmed cases as of June 29.

Ontario now has the most cases of 3,161. The national total is 7,981.
