Thailand's Public Health Ministry on Monday announced 196 more patients, who are confirmed to have infected with the A/H1N1 flu virus, bringing the country's total number to 2,272.

As some 2,230 have already recovered, some 35 others are still treated in hospitals, and some seven people died of the A/H1N1 flu virus infection, Public Health Minister Witthaya Kaewparada said, the Thai News Agency reported.

The country had its first two confirmed patients on May 12, and according to the World Health Organization, Thailand ranked 33rst as the country, which has been hit by the deadly new virus.
