Indonesia on Friday confirmed 29 newly infected A/H1N1 flu cases, bringing the total to 691 in the country, Health Ministry said.
Two of the newly infected persons were foreigners and the rest were Indonesian citizens, head of the research center of the ministry Agus Purwodianto said.
"Four of the 29 had journey to Malaysia, the United States, and four others had unclear travel background," he said in a statement.
Director General of Disease Control and Environmental Health of the ministry Tjandra Yoga Aditama said that currently the virus has spread to more than a half of the 33 provinces in the archipelago country with over 17,500 islands.
Indonesia so far has recorded 3 fatalities on the disease, the ministry has said.
To prevent further spread of the disease, the health ministry has ordered a hygienic life as an effort to prevent the spread of the disease.
Indonesia has been on alert on the H1N1 virus since the severity of the threat from the virus on the third level. The World Health Organization has recently raised the alert level from five to six, which means the pandemic has occurred.
Despite the virus has fatality rate of 0.4 percent, the WHO reports that over 800 people out of 134,503 infected persons have died globally.
