Death toll from A/H1N1 flu rises to 37 in Vietnam

Vietnam confirmed one more death of A/H1N1 influenza, bringing the country's total number of flu deaths to 37, said a report on the website of the Ministry of Health on Tuesday.
The patient was a 38-year-old man in the suburbs of the Vietnamese capital city Hanoi. He had a history of kidney disease.
The patient was taken to the National Institute of Infectious and Tropical Diseases on Oct. 5 with fever, coughing, and difficulties in breathing. He was diagnosed with pneumonia and kidney infection.
The man was treated with Tamiflu drug, but died on Oct. 31 due to pneumonia. His test sample showed positive with the A/H1N1 virus, said the ministry.
The ministry on Tuesday confirmed that Vietnam's A/H1N1 flu cases have risen to 10,605. Of the total, 10,344 patients have been discharged from hospitals thanks to their recovery.
