Flooding in Vietnam's central Quang Nam province over the past few days has killed one school boy and left one woman missing.

The 12-year-old boy was drowned, and the 51-year-old woman was swept away by flooding, local newspaper Vietnam Agriculture reported Tuesday.

Floods in Vietnam's central region have killed or left missing 10 local people since last weekend.

Natural disasters, including typhoons and hails, killed 339 people, left 274 people missing, and injured 2,065 others in Vietnam in 2006. The estimated losses totaled 18.6 trillion Vietnamese dong (nearly 1.2 billion U.S. dollars) in the year.
