The Lantau cable car system in Hong Kong is scheduled to reopen to the public on Monday after undergoing a series of test rides in the past week.
The managing director of Ngong Ping 360, Morris Cheung, said on Sunday that more than 40,000 people took rides on the Lantau cable car in the past seven days. During the test run, there were occasional delays or stoppages, ranging from 30 seconds to 8 minutes.
Cheung said they would enhance the public broadcast system, so that the public would be informed of any delays as soon as possible. He said the company's website would publish the weather condition in the area.
The tourist attraction in Tung Chung had been closed for more than five months after an empty cabin fell to the ground in June, 2007.
