According to reports from Kyodo, the international organization, "21st century renewable energy networks," consisting of the United Nations Environment Program and global researcher, recently published a report revealing that in 2007 there was a global investment of 71 billion US dollars towards the use of solar energy and other renewable energy sources for power generation equipment. Additionally, businesses involved in renewable energy have been expanding rapidly.
The report also pointed out that last year, Germany's investment in renewable energy, to be used for power generation equipment, ranked first in the world with 14 billion US dollars. China and the US follow with investments of 12.9 billion US dollars and 10 billion US dollars.
