Ancient, rustic and modern life coexist in Xidi village

A traditional wedding ceremony is held in Xidi Village in Yi County, East China's Anhui Province, on Friday, July 31, 2009. Xidi, featuring about 200 well-preserved folk houses from the Ming and Qing dynasties, was originally built in the North Song Dynasty (960-1279). The ancient village was listed as a World Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2000. (CRI online Photo)
