Drought hits Dongting Lake

Photo taken on Oct. 17, 2009 shows the lake bed of Dongting Lake in central China's Hunan Province. Water level in Chenglingji in Dongting Lake fell to 21.72 meters at 14:00 on Saturday, which was considerably lower than the water levels of the corresponding periods in recent years.
