The Zheng He training ship of the PLA Navy will depart from the Lvshun military harbor at 4:00 this afternoon, to start its journey to visit to the Republic of Korea (ROK) and Japan.
The ship's complement of 365 includes 230 cadets from four academies under the People's Liberation Army Navy. They will carry out a series of exchanges with their South Korean and Japanese counterparts.
During the visit, China will send out 4 cadets to South Korean Naval Academy and Japan's Maritime Self-Defense Force Academy for training. Meanwhile, ROK and Japan can each send two students to receive training on the vessel "Zhenghe".
"I want to see how they do the training," said Song Yangyang, one of the 230 cadets. "And we are well prepared because we have learnt a lot about their manners and customs."
