After taking hundreds of pictures we decide to get back on the bus with Michel and head down to the next stop; the Purple Cloud Temple. Thanks to Michel's sister, we learn all about the fact that this temple has the best 'Feng Shui' in all of Wudang. Behind the temple is a mountain and in front there is a water feature, she told us that this is essential for good Feng Shui. With our Chinese companions we walk around the beautiful temple watching the resident priests and priestesses'. We burn some paper and make a wish before heading to the main Purple Heaven Hall. After I accidentally drop all the fortune sticks onto the floor (I was only supposed to drop one, then take the corresponding number to receive my fortune) and the priestess tells me to have more respect, we decide to quietly go and look around outside. Then, at exactly 5pm, the Doaist Priests and Priestesses' come to the Purple Hall to sing songs and play traditional Daoist music. We stand by and watch. For just a moment it feels like we have been transported back to ancient China.

Three connecting levels at the summit. As it begins to get dark, we decide to head back to the city to get something to eat. Our new found friends arrange to meet us in town, where they will show us a nice restaurant. The first place we try is too busy, so we try another place further in town. It's a nice big restaurant which serves up good quality local food. After sampling the chicken which included the head, we wash down our food with a little beer then bid farewell to our companions. A little wander around the streets in the evening alerts us to the fact that fire crackers are being set off on the streets by young kids. So we decide to run the gauntlet, dodging fireworks back to our hotel where we rest up before the long walk ahead of us tomorrow.

Time to rest in a sedan-chair.【1】 【2】 【3】 【4】 【5】 【6】
