China's veteran forward Zhang Ouying finally scored at her second match in Saturday's 3-1 win of her team over Italy at the women's soccer invitational event, and got herself impressed with head coach Marika Domanski-Lyfors.
"Zhang played a very good game, she scored one goal and also assisted Han Duan. She's very good, and I don't need to put any other words on her," said the Swedish coach at a post-match press conference.
The 31-year-old Zhang, who was not back on pitch until late last month after having announced her retirement from international soccer in 2005, tapped in a short-range cross from her attacking partner Han Duan on the 65th minute after she built up twice for Han earlier before the break, respectively in 30 and 40 minutes.
Zhang, a swift striker who's a member of the nation's World Cupand Olympic squad in 1999 and 2000 when China both finished runners-up in the grand sport events, had missed the hosts' opening match last Sunday against Thailand and made her first appearance in Wednesday's 1-0 nip over Mexico.
She had told press before Saturday's game that she's so eager to score for China and would do all that she could to vow for it. The striker finally made it and played a full match after a 50-minute appearance on Wednesday.
While singing high for Zhang's performance, Domanski refused togive a hint about the veteran's chance of making the Swede's squadfor the upcoming World Cup in September on Chinese soil.
"I think Zhang did a good job, but we have many players with good performance," said Domanski.
"We have not yet decided on the squad for World Cup. What I could say is that Zhang of course has her chance to have a position in my squad for World Cup," she added.
