PLA's 80th founding anniversary

China's armed forces more modernized, professional: President Hu Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) has grown in strength and become more modernized and professional through eight decades of development, President Hu Jintao said on Wednesday in Beijing. Editor’s note: August 1 marks the 80th anniversary of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA).
