The chief delegates meeting of the six-party talks will end at around 11:00 a.m. with a statement on the work plan for the second phase, yet no deadline for the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) to declare and disable it's nuclear facilities. The head delegates will meet China's Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi in the morning, top U.S. negotiator Christopher Hill told reporters before leaving a hotel in downtown Beijing for the final day's session.
Hill said on Thursday that he still wanted the actions of the second phase to be taken by the end of this December, "and I still think it's possible". He would meet the DPRK delegate in terms of the working group before the end of August and urged the DPRK to take further actions in denuclearization. "The DPRK still has interest in getting fuel oil. Further fuel oil demand should follow further denuclearization," Hill said. Source: Xinhua |
