South Korean officials said Wednesday that the South Koreans hostages held in Afghanistan are safe.
The government has confirmed the hostages' health are in good condition and is making efforts to acquire necessary cooperation from all parties including the Afghan government, said South Korean Foreign Minister Song Min-soon at a meeting of the National Assembly in the afternoon. Presidential Spokesman Cheon Ho-seon also said the hostages are safe. The government is closely cooperating with the Afghan government and U.S. forces in Afghanistan and is analyzing all the information related with the kidnapping, he said. The contact with Taliban is keeping on through various channels, he added.
