The leaders of the Group of Eight (G8) nations on Wednesday met with their counterparts from Brazil, China, India, Mexico and South Africa for an outreach working session to discuss a range of global issues.
This is the fourth annual meeting since 2005 between leaders of the G8 and the five developing countries.
Climate change, world economy and African development have been chosen as the main topics of the three-day G8 summit, which started Monday at Toyako, a resort town on the northern island of Hokkaido.
The leaders from the G8 -- Britain, Canada, Italy, Japan, France, Germany, Russia and the United States -- also talked with the presidents of seven African nations on the first day of the gathering, which runs through Wednesday.
